Verve/Universal Jazz

The Verve label is based in New York and is widely regarded as the world’s greatest jazz label. Great Verve artists include Diane Krall, Nina Simone, Natalie Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Oscar Peterson Universal Jazz is also home to some of today’s most exciting young artists through affiliated labels like Concord and Rounder, whose artists include Madeleine Peyroux.

Philips

The Decca Record Company stretches back to the late 1920′s, and built a reputation at the forefront of audio reproduction. Today, Decca is a label of great diversity, home to many of the world’s most distinguished artists, and with appeal to both specialist and mainstream audiences. The Decca Music Group also incorporates the Philips label. These labels are the home of an array of the greatest musicians, which include Juan Diego Florez, Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Cecilia Bartoli and Luciano Pavarotti.

Deutsche Grammophon (DG)

Deutsche Grammophon (DG) is widely acknowledged as the most prestigious of all classical music labels, and was founded by Emil Berliner in 1897. The label remains committed to artistic excellence and the current roster of artists boasts many of the world’s most brilliant talents such as Sting, Bryn Terfel, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Krystian Zimerman, Claudio Abbado, Placido Domingo, Valery Gergiev, Magdalena Kozena, Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon. The catalogue also features some of the finest artists in the history of recorded music. Legendary figures such as Leonard Bernstein, Vladimir Horrowitz and Herbert von Karajan.

Concord Records

Concord Records and Fantasy (which also includes Riverside, Prestige, Milestone and Pablo) have an enviable roster of some of the greatest names in jazz and contemporary adult music. Over its 33 year history Concord and Fantasy have amassed a catalogue of some of the most enduring names in music, Ray Charles, Count Basie, Ray Brown, Mel Torme, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Ella Fitzgerald, Sonny Rollins, Bill Evans and more recently Peter Cincotti, Curtis Stigers and Michael Bolton.

Rounder Records

Rounder Records is an independent record label based in Burlington, Massachusetts, founded in 1970 by Ken Irwin, Bill Nowlin and Marian Leighton-Levy, while all three were still university students. Rounder is now one of the biggest independent record labels in the United States, with several specialized subsidiary labels. It once served as a major distributor and central sales location for other independent labels specializing in roots music, at one point representing as many as 450 other labels. In the 1990s the company cut back on the distribution effort in order to focus on its own productions. In the early 2000s, shortly after the merger of the PolyGram and MCA label families, Rounder signed a manufacturing and distribution deal with Universal Music, which also purchased an interest in the label.
