Having conquered the world’s most prestigious opera stages, and led the cast of Les Mis for the best part of a year, Lancashire-born Boe has released an album of the most beautiful and timeless songs which has really struck a chord, not only with his loyal fans – ‘Alfie’s Arrows’ – but with music fans across the country.

Alfie surprised everyone when he recorded a duet with his all-time hero, rock legend, Robert Plant. This unlikely, but perfect pairing, is a first for the Led Zeppelin front-man who was as honoured as Alfie was, to be featured on the new album.

This was just as unexpected as Alfie’s duet on his last album with close friend Matt Lucas. Alfie was then asked if he would provide vocals for The Kaiser Chiefs. Paloma Faith invited Alfie to perform at her recent charity concert. Mel C is joining Alfie on tour.. the list is endless.

Having already ruffled a few feathers by accusing the opera world of being snobbish, Alfie continues to go against the grain. Having today over-taken the likes of Rizzle Kicks, Manic Street Preachers, Justin Bieber – who all have new releases this week – and the hugely popular Adele and Ed Sheeran, Alfie Boe proves himself to be the most rock’n’roll man in opera.
