Following two concert performances at the BBC Proms, Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja continues his season and celebration of Verdi’s bicentennial year with a concert at Paris’s Théâtre des Champs–Élysées on September 19. Appearing with the Orchestre National de France under conductor Daniele Gatti, Joseph will perform the composer’s Eight Romances for Tenor and Orchestra, as orchestrated by Luciano Berio.
The evening also features the talents of the Chœur de Radio France and soprano Leah Crocetto. In addition to sacred works by Verdi and music from both Aida and Otello, the orchestra also plays Dutilleux’s Mystère de l’instant.
